Conflict Resolution - Your Guide to a Peaceful Household
May 2011 Mountain Community Newsletter
Hi everyone,
Lots of opportunities to contribute to the community this month--check out the newsletter!
You can celebrate Cinco de Mayo this week at Montgomery Creek School, with a delicious dinner and dance performance on Friday, 6pm. Then, fully inspired by the wonderful meal, make a firm decision to attend the annual membership meeting of the Mountain Community Center the following Tuesday, and put yourself (or someone else) forward as a candidate for the center's Board of Directors--two good people are needed at this time. The MCC does so much great stuff--you don't need any particular experience, but a willingness and ability to show up reliably and put in some elbow grease as necessary. Read all about it!
There will be teen volunteer and job opportunities this summer; call the Teen Center at 337-5768.
Get ready for the Flea Market, and the Chili Cook-Off, both coming in June, and great fundraisers.
The calendar is taking a little vacation for May and will return next month, but most organizations have regular meetings, so if you look at last month's calendar and see that such-and-such a group met on 2nd Tuesdays, well, then, that's what they'll be doing in May, too, and you should go participate.
Achhh, it's hard to be indoors when it's finally so warm and sunny outside. But don't overdo it on your first big yard project of the year, and don't plant out those summer seedlings until the latter part of the month unless you want to bet against that last bit of frost. Most years, you'll lose!
Enjoy May--
