Mountain Community Newsletter July 2011 Teen Activity Calendar

Hello everyone,

I apologize for the tardiness of the newsletter this month--the worst summer cold I've ever had just did me in.

We really have a community to be proud of--so many good things happen here! Congratulations to everyone involved in last month's Chili Cook-Off, which was a whopping success as a fundraiser for the MCVFD (and a culinary success, too!). Congrats also to the 4th of July Picnic planners--great picnic, and some good weather for it! Finally, congrats to everyone involved with getting KKRN on the air, which was a marathon event!

July is sort of a slow month, but there are some important things in the newsletter, and I've attached a Teen Center calendar so that everyone--not just families with teens--can get a sense of the range of great things that are happening there. Teens are doing wonderful work at various community events, so be sure to thank them when you see them out there.

Putting on my other, personal "farmer" hat for a moment, I will add that I hope everyone's tomatoes are finally coming along well (finally!), and note that the Burney Farmers Market opens this coming Weds. July 13th, 3-6pm, in the parking lot of Angelina's. Hope to see some of you there.

If you'd like to be removed from this e-mail list, just send me a note.
Thanks~
