Bright Futures is a program that provides support, education, and enjoyment for all families with children 0-5, or who are pregnant. Everyone who is involved with young children in Acorn’s region is invited to participate in Bright Futures activities.

Our regularly-scheduled activities include weekly “Tiny Tunes,” when parents bring children for a morning of play, music, crafts and food. Parents (grandparents, older siblings, etc.) get a chance to socialize and plan other, informal activities amongst themselves. In general, Tiny Tunes is held every Tuesday morning at Acorn (Cedar Creek School) from 9-noon; every first Friday at Indian Springs School in Big Bend from 10-11am, and every second Friday at the Oak Seed Preschool in Oak Run, 10-11am. However, schedules may vary somewhat depending on vacation periods, so please call Acorn at 337-6736 to confirm.
Other services that are available (and free!) through Bright Futures include:
- The “Raising A Reader” Early Literacy Program
- Developmental, Social-Emotional, Hearing and Vision Screenings
- Help with basic needs such as food, clothing, diapers, etc.
- Referrals to many other resources
- Periodic parenting classes
